THE Uganda Air Cargo Corporation, a firm owned by the Ugandan Ministry of Defence, has launched two new passenger planes. Fred Kyankya, the general manager, said the Y-12 aircraft would cater for both regional and international clients. He noted that the $7m aircraft had a seating capacity of 17 and 19 passengers respectively.
“We will now combine three related aviation services; air cargo transport, travel bureau and passenger air charter in a one-stop operation,” he said.
Jeje Odongo, the state minister for defence while at Entebbe Air force base last week said, “We shall source for funds from every corner to ensure sustainability of the aircraft”. He further said, “Uganda Air Cargo is our pride because it is keeping Uganda’s flag and the Crested Crane in the sky”.
